This is how some of our parents have described the new skills and positive changes their children have experienced after their year with Mimi’s House

  • There are not enough words to describe the massive benefits (he) has received from attending Mimi's House. He has formed tight bonds with everyone involved and greatly improved his self-confidence. We still have issues with school refusal but not to the degree that we did before he started the Mimi's House program. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this possible for us. The only downside is that he is now going into year 6and he is going to miss his Fridays at Mimi's terribly.

  • I have seen a great improvement through the year, she has become more responsible, respectful and more engaged in learning. Thank you so much Mimi’s for everything you have taught her, she really has loved the time she spent with you guys too. She has more knowledge about her behaviour, more control over her emotions and is really trying in class again plus actually wants to go to school. It’s amazing to see.
  •  A fantastic opportunity for children: for him to have the outlet of Mimi’s House without having to pay is fantastic – he’s happy, and has lots to tell about his day. We wouldn’t be able to afford a service like this if there was a cost.
  • He is experiencing less emotional outbursts and is approaching challenges and set-backs with more maturity. He is displaying improvement in emotional growth since being at Mimi’s.
  • He is starting to approach school with more enthusiasm. He has re-created his passion for maths and is quite obsessed. He has less detentions now and has been able to experience reward day for the first time.
  • The school used to call me to collect her from school, now this isn’t their first option because she has gained so many skills to self-regulate and she is actually using them. She has more confidence - she stood up in front of the class last week, for the first time.
